A side of compassion, please
A couple of years ago I briefly met a man who was sleeping in the doorway of a Prada shop in central London. He had a pair of chef's checked trousers in his rucksack, which I saw peeking out, so I asked if that was what he worked as; he said yes, but he'd recently been fired because they found out he was homeless.

Some of the homeless people I've encountered have been in shelters, some just around London on the streets or the tube, wherever... I'm putting them up here because they have been some of the most interesting, colourful conversations and encounters I've had; sad, moving, funny, sometimes surprisingly mundane! I hope you find them interesting - feel free to comment.
